Reading the full text of the United States Constitution in the House chamber began last year during the 112th Congress on January 6, 2012. This year’s reading on January 15, 2013 marks only the second time in the history of the United States House of Representatives that the full text of the United States Constitution has been read aloud by members of Congress in the House chamber.
