Announcements and Reminders:  You should have received the assignment for the February Book Assessment last time in this class.  It is due February 28. If you  send or revise or otherwise improve your January Book Assessment on Edmodo, you need to let me know to check it again.

Today’s Agenda:  See the new seating charts! 1.  Sign up for your February Book of the Month!  This is due today. 2. More about the February Book of the Month Assignment -- What the template looks like. Who's Who Example Do you have a Who's Who in your book? Are there people you could include in a Who's Who? 3. Individual Reading (Points are earned by bringing your own nonfiction book and reading it during this time.) 4.  A new Essential Spelling Word: Add this to your list of non-negotiable spelling words: are/our When our mother is happy,  we are happy. 5.  Verbs or Not Verbs Game Target: I can recognize what a writing prompt (or other set of directions) is asking me to do. 6.  Finding Evidence in Passages to Use in a Writing Assignment Target:  I can find evidence and use it in my writing.  Finish studying passages:  a. One with a partner b. One on your own c. Together make a chart of Facts, Quotes, Anecdotes, Ideas  to use in a brief essay.         Which ones would you use? How would you avoid plagiarizing? Use the information presented in the passages provided to support your points. Make sure to include information from all the passages in your essay.
