Announcements and Reminders:

There will be no school on Monday, September 7, 2015 because of Labor Day.


     We will begin the Cave Time schedule 

when we come back from Labor Day Weekend.
   
Remember to be reading your book for the September Book-of-the-Month assignment: Book of the Month Assignment.docx


Also, remember to learn how to ALWAYS recognize when these words are spelled correctly: your/you're, there/their/they're. (Test September 4 and 8)

Note: Instead of using buttermilk, I added a tablespoon of lemon juice to milk.  Making any butter cooky a day ahead is a good idea because the taste improves.  I made mine ahead, kept them in sealed container after they cooled,  and waited to frost them until the next day.

If You Were Absent:
  • Arrange a time with the teacher to take your spelling test.
  • Pick up the handout with the lyrics of the song about figurative language, and complete the crossword puzzle.  
  • Begin studying the spelling words for our next test. See above. 
  • Don't forget to read your Book of the Month and prepare for the small group discussions on September 23/24.
  • For your information, we used Cave Time today for a practice emergency evacuation -- fire drill.  At any time we evacuate the school, find your A1 teacher on the playing fields.  Line up alphabetically by last name.
