This week Jan 20-26 in History: January 24, 1956: Look magazine published an article written by Alabama journalist William Bradford Huie entitled "The Shocking Story of Approved Killing in Mississippi." Months after an all-white jury acquitted Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam of the 1955 murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till, they confessed their guilt to Huie, who paid the pair $4,000.
