Our Valentine's Dance will be this Friday (February 15th) from 2:45-4:00pm.  
This dance is for all grades and the cost is $3.00. 

We have an A/B Day schedule coming up on February 20th.    You will receive a bell schedule next Monday.             


Important Reminders   
 If you have not handed in your waiver, get that signed and handed in.
Hand in your mini-bio if you haven't.   See the requirements on Skyward, or requirements and Mentor Texts on CANVAS.

  • 2/11 - 2/12   Continue to work on the body text of your chapter, adding sentence imitations. 
  • 2/7 - 2/8   Draft the body text of your chapter, adding transitions.
  • 2/5-2/6   Title Page and Introduction as explained on Canvas
  • 2/1-2/4   Turn in Research Questions.
  • 1/25       Turn in Observe, Question, Compare Graphic Organizer 
  •                  with Sentence Imitation on the Back.

Freedom Festival

GREAT OPPORTUNITY:  AMERICAN FORK JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS COULD WIN UP TO $200 IN THE ANNUAL FREEDOM FESTIVAL ESSAY OR ART CONTEST. STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO CREATE AN ORIGINAL ESSAY OR ART WORK ON OUR 2019 THEME. "CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW ... ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM ... OF SPEECH OR OF THE PRESS.”

I have put together parts A and B for the body text of my How They Croaked chapter, and I have blended them together as I typed them into my Google Doc.  I printed the Google Doc.

Some classes needed to work on sentence imitation and preparing sentences for their chapters.
How They Croaked Chapter ---
Students finished the cutting-up strategy, then typed their body text onto their Google Docs and printed them.

provides helps for identifying the parts of the sentences. 

Students cut apart their parts A and B and combined the two using transitions.
