Comparing the Parts of Three Types of Writing
	Paragraph	Essay	Fiction
Beginning	topic Sentence	introductory paragraph with thesis (overall topic sentence)	exposition
Middle	supporting details – body	supporting paragraphs -- body	rising action, climax, falling action
End	concluding sentence	concluding paragraph with overall concluding sentence	resolution
