Ways Characters Change




Kind of Change (Transformation)
Explanation
Example
Physical
The character develops strength or dexterity. 
The character grows up physically.

Inner Strength
The character develops courage, overcomes fear.

Emotional
The character matures, thinks beyond his own needs.

Moral
The character develops a conscience.

Psychological
The character develops insight, self-awareness.

Social
The character accepts new responsibility with respect to family, community, or a group.

Intellectual/
creative
The character advances his or her intellectual/creative ability in order to learn or do something new.   This allows him or her to solve a problem, puzzle, or mystery, leading to new understandings about a situation. 

Spiritual
Character has an awakening, which changes his or her entire perspective.
