Announcements and Reminders for Wednesday/Thursday, January 30/31, 2019:

As you come in, pick up

Penny Wars has been extended.  Don't forget to contribute this week!  

If you have not already completed these assignments, finish and hand them in as soon as possible:

You should have finished typing your argument essay on MyAccess.   
You were to have finished it and submitted it by Friday evening, January 11.  
You may still do this. 
You are able to also work on your essay at home.

You were to hand in your packet by Monday or Tuesday, January 14 or 15.
You may still do this.  Please make sure you have completed these assignments. 
Creating an Introduction and Thesis Sentence for Argument

Also, if you have not handed in your waiver, get that signed and handed in.
Hand in your mini-bio if you haven't.    

Great opportunity:  American Fork Junior High School students could win up to $200 in the annual Freedom Festival Essay or Art Contest. Students are invited to create an original essay or art work on our 2019 theme. "Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom ... of speech or of the press.”

 Try to write a whole page. 



2. Receive a paper for your Research Questions.  If you weren't here, you can find it on CANVAS under the module for 
Reading and Writing Informational Text. 
You'll also find there a list of possible people (or you could pick someone else with Ms. Hilton's approval), and you will find links to some reliable and useful sources.  





If you have extra time, 
create your Google Doc.  
Open a new Google Doc.  Save it as [Your Own Name] Title Page
Give it a title which will be an allusion to something.
Insert a picture of the person you are doing this on. 
Create a Tombstone with 
  • occupation
  • birth date and place
  • death date and place
  • age at death

We are writing  How They Croaked, Volume 2.
