1. CSI Sentence
Copy this sentence into your composition book under
CSI Sentences/Grammar. Page 83/84
Label this CSI #3 and add today's date.
When I stepped out into the bright sunlight, from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home (Hinton 1).
Write down three or more things you notice about the sentence (English class things such as punctuation, spelling, parts of speech, sentence type, etc. The sentence is correct – no errors in it, I hope.)

4. Reading from The Outsiders:If you did not finish chapter 1 last time as a class, continue to fill in your character chart for The Outsiders.

5. Finish reading chapter 1 of The Outsiders and continue to fill in the chart.

If You Were Absent:
Write the CSI sentence and your "noticings" on a piece of paper to tape into your composition book, or do it when you get back.
Fill out the chart in your composition book when you return. Read chapter 1 of The Outsiders to catch up with the class.
If you missed taking the spelling test, you may take it during cavetime.
You may retake your first spelling test on Sept. 18/19, the same day you will be tested on the second list of words. |
