Today’s  Agenda for Friday/Tuesday, February 15/19, 2019:

Writer's Notebook for B5:

"Visions Of Fame And Fortune" - Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion for the birthday of Vannie Brazil (a teen girl)
In your composition book, write to answer this prompt:  What is it that the author wants for this girl?  Are these the things that you want for your life?  Why or why not?  What do you want?

V-isions of fame and fortune
A-re deep inside your mind;
N-ever let them fade,
N-or let them stay behind.
I-n the visions of fame and fortune, dreams are clearly seen;
E-arly eighth of October, your goal is a perfect scene.

B-uying house and cars
R-emains in your sight;
A-im at the glorious life,
Z-one of gold is bright.
I-t's time to fight poverty and bring it to oblivion;
L-et your eyes view the visions of fame and fortune.

Also, what do you notice about the poem?  What is its structure?  Does it rhyme?  How does it rhyme?   Does it use figurative language?
